The Ford Mustang has been a staple in the American automobile industry and is one of Ford Motor Company's most successful creations. Headlamp performance has steadily improved throughout the automobile age, spurred by the great disparity between daytime and nighttime traffic fatalities. A study conducted by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that nearly half of all traffic-related fatalities occur in the dark, despite only 25% of traffic traveling during darkness.

Ford Motor Company have worked and reworked the Mustang's headlamps through the ages since its introduction in 1963 with performance enhancement and styling packages that have made the Mustang more than just another coupe. Indeed, the ford Mustang headlights are unique to that brand, and although other auto makers have always tried to come up with similar designs, there is just something about these headlights that is hard to imitate.
